Safeguarding
& Insurance

Child protection and insurance information, together in one place.

Child Protection

Our approach to safeguarding children during their swimming lessons.

Our safeguarding commitment

Paddlers Swim School is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people. We expect all staff, volunteers and visitors to share this commitment.

We aim to create a safe, supportive environment where children can learn and enjoy swimming.

Qualified Teachers & DBS Checks

All our teachers hold the relevant qualifications for teaching swimming and have undergone an enhanced DBS check.

First-aid training

Our poolside coordinator is first-aid trained and has completed a Rescue Test for Teachers course.

Dedicated poolside supervision

A poolside coordinator attends every session to supervise rather than teach. This allows them to observe and oversee all classes, focusing on safety and safeguarding while teachers deliver the lessons.

Inclusion & individual support

Children from all backgrounds are welcome in our classes and are offered equal opportunities and support. We are committed to including children with a range of individual needs in our classes wherever possible.

Raising a Concern

If you have a concern about a child’s safety or wellbeing during our swimming lessons, please contact Keely Chalker.
